Hello and happy summer to you!  I just wanted to share a little update with you.

Having spent this past year in Vancouver with the kids in new schools, we have decided to make it permanent!  I have joined a great company – Macdonald Realty, West Vancouver – and I am very excited to be building my real estate business on the North Shore and in Vancouver with an amazing group of professionals.  After 23 fantastic years in Whistler, there will be a lot to miss but we still have our home there and will be visiting often!

A love hate relationship that I can’t live without! 

In April I blew my knee out playing soccer with my daughter, Natalie, which left me unable to run or do yoga -  my two favourites!  I desperately needed to sweat and to challenge my cardio.  The bone bruises (little micro fractures)  will take approx. 8 months before allowing impact so I must say, I was so grateful when the Grouse Grind opened for the season.  2.9km of uphill humiliation while grasping for breath but at the end of it I am fully back to the calm, mental state that I love to live in.  Thank you to all the rest of you Grouse Grinders – especially the 70+ year woman and 80+ year old man that beat my best time and the 4 and 5 year olds that look so happy bobbing thier way up the trail.  Inspiring.

If anyone is looking for a mind blowing art experience in Florence, please let me know!  Rocky Ruggiero is a brilliant Art Professor and arranges cultural programs for the arts that will have you looking at Bernini and Michael Angelo from a whole new perspective.

Thank you to our wonderful friends, “Juice and Dr. V.”, for hooking up the best Italy experience possible.  From the most remote restaurants, Red Zone at U2 in Rome,  Manuelle the Driver, Dr. Rocky, private time with David and the Ufizzi all to ourselves… the list is endless.  WOW!  A trip of a lifetime – I feel so blessed to have such incredible friends.

My beautiful grandmother died on August 29th at the age of 98!  She was the most generous little soul imaginable and lived to please her family.  Completely selfless as she served.  Thanks Gram!  We can all learn from the way you loved! xx

My partner, Rob, just built the most beautiful little piece of paradise on Quadra Island which was celebrated this weekend with a deck warming party.  Our friend, Karmin, calls it GLAMPING because we have almost every luxury with a covered deck, running (rain captured) water, granite counter tops and even a flushing toilet - it is glamorous outdoor living.  Thank you to all who came to celebrate!  I have always believed that the first party sets the tone of the home (or in this case the deck) and there is no doubt that the bar has been raised very high with the beautiful energy that everyone brought to the evening.  Rob’s good friend, Jim, worked tirelessly to create the most gorgeous old cedar tables (art pieces) which could put this place over the Glamping category and right into luxury living.  If you have a piece of land somewhere in the world that is not being used, you may consider these small improvements to create a little paradise without a huge expenditure!
